Just like any other VPN on the internet, VPN Monster has its own responsibilities promised to the users. You already know what you as a user want VPN to take care of for you. It is okay if you don’t know what you want in a VPN because I’m going to tell you what you should always look out for when you’re engaging with any VPN.

Hey there, I’m Criszy, the founder of this platform (Website). Here we share knowledge about cyber security, especially about VPNs. So you’re assist to get a right insight look into any VPN we have covered on this website. As so far, we have over 30 VPNs covered with no sponsorship from these VPNs. Meaning the reviews are all honest and not sold out.

Allow me to give a little light intensity on VPN Monster. First, reflect it by its name on the positive side. Normally, anything that is regarded as a monster is dangerous. But in this case, the Monster linked with VPN is a little different. It means a VPN that does everything VPN has to offer all of the best quality. This is information we’ll have to verify in this article.

Intro of VPN Monster…

Just from the outside appearance that anyone, anyone can see without having to download the app onto their devices. VPN Monster seems to be a trusted VPN with a couple of million users around the world. You can verify this information on the Google Play Store. It has accumulated over 10,000,000 downloads just from android users.

This VPN app has been around for quite awhile now, as it was first released on Google Play store on 16th of June, 2017. Making it one of the oldest and still relevant VPN in the industry. Because a regular update of the services including the app design, servers, protection and speed of the servers.

It’s very hard for a VPN to just hoop on in space and start gaining attention from random people on the internet without offering no special services. So, judging VPN Monster from the outside before we start revealing the inside part. With all the success on our faces, it’s more likely to be one of the great VPN.

About VPN Monster

As it has millions of users with one of the highest 5 star ratings in the free VPN industry. It leads to a 4.5 star rating in general so, it’s a 4.5 star rated app. Making it one of the most rated VPN on the Google Playstore Store with over 360,000 reviews. It’s estimated to have around a 90% 5 stars rating.

With all that being displayed right in our faces, we still can’t tell what really goes on inside the app. Because VPN apps decline sometimes in how they work. As the app could literally have one of the best services this year. And when the developers have got those millions dollar bag. They just get to relax and enjoy the fruit of their labour.

VPN Monster or any other VPN app isn’t simply just create. It’s creates by coding with multiple layers that an average person could never imagine. Coding itself is not a joking subject, hence it comes with a lot of headaches, stress, sleepless nights and early mornings in order to achieve the app you want. And all the errors that get involve in the process are something else.

Effort involved in making this great VPN

If I’m lying, any coding student or developer can testify in the comments section below. Tell us about how this thing works. So the point is that even though the VPN Monster has achieved a lot so far. The developers haven’t abandoned the app and embarked on other investments. While living lavish on the millions they have probably earned on this VPN.

They keep consistent and developing while enjoying labour for the hard work. That comes with maintenance of the VPN app for the long run. This includes the regular update of the app making some changes to the code lines that they think are not that important or relevant anymore.

The VPN Monster has just got updated on 28th of October, 2022, which came with some improvement. As the internet speed has just got boost from slow to moderate speed. As I’m going to show you in this article later.

The regular update is something I personally adore about this VPN. As for the time of writing this article, it was in early December 2022. So it was pretty close to the time of the update. They have probably updated again if you’re reading this in 2023.

What does VPN Monster do?

Monster VPN claims to do almost everything that VPN could do. And we’re here to see if these things they say to do are really getting done for the users or the developers. Just claim them to induce users into users to using their app for the sake of making profit off their app.

As I said above, you already know what you want the VPN to do for you. But in case you still don’t know, then here we go:

Protection your privacy

Public WiFi security

Bypass geo blocking

Yes, the mentioned there are what users commonly wants in the VPN. So users tend to download the VPN app and get it connect. While they do their online activities knowing that the VPN will protect their privacy. Their connection traffic and help them to bypass the geo-restrictions. So they can get access to their desired contents on the internet. Whether reading articles on certain sites or streaming audio, video contents on any platform

Can I stream videos with VPN Monster?

For instance, the world’s popular video streaming platform called Netflix and the world’s popular audio streaming platform called Spotify. Though there are more platforms, you can unblock by means of VPN.

Before we say the mean of VPN, we’ll have to first confirm if it actually does unblocking all content on the internet. But in the meantime, let’s first finish talking about what you want VPN to do for you if you don’t know that much.

We mentioned Netflix and Spotify. Are these the only platforms you want to gain access to, huh? Of course, not, there are various other platforms that do the same thing. So someone may prefer other video streaming platforms such as Hulu, Amazon, Disney, Prime among others.

And the same for the Audio streaming platforms like iTunes, Apple music, SoundCloud, Tidal, Deezer, among others… You need VPN help to have access to any restricted of these, which VPN Monster said to do for its users.

Other things claim to be done by VPN Monster;

Provide users with a private inbuilt browser

Easy to use with no registrations needed

Assures users of not keeping their logs

Every service on the app is free and unlimited except their premium version.

Now we all know what we want and what the VPN Monster has to offer the users. It’s a lot better to know everything that is to be put understudy. So let’s focus on the most important thing about the VPN, that determines if this app is trustworthy or not.

So the most important things to consider while using this app are none other than the users’ privacy protection, public WiFi safety, unblocking geo-restrictions and the internet speed when one is connected to the VPN Monster.

Just to make it clear, let’s arrange these things below according to how they are going to get cover:

1. Privacy protection

2. Public hotspot WiFi security

3. Geo-restrictions unblocking

4. Internet speed test

Break down of mentioned features

Here we’re going to go through possible tests to see how protect users’ privacy is when they’re connect to the VPN Monster. Everything we’re going to say in this is not suppose to be taken as biased info or whatsoever. Because we want to make it clear that any information we have to share with you here is all through our deepest research with proof of where all our thoughts come about.

You need to keep it in your mind every single time you’re visiting websites, your information may be record. Leaving your information wide open to any site you visit on the internet is absolutely not a smart thing to do. So you must be extra careful nowadays about how you browse the web.

This is why most people who have any idea about how dangerous the internet can be to your online privacy. Always make sure to be connect to VPN before doing anything on the internet. But this goes well when you are connect to a reliable VPN

1. Privacy protection – VPN Monster

Because some of these VPNs do really have strong user privacy protection policies. Hence some leaks users’ information on the internet hence exposing users to the extreme risk of internet wild hackers. So things can easily go left instead of right if the VPN we’re using isn’t that reliable. And that’s why we’re here to check the reliability of VPN Monster.

So here is what we did. In order to confirm users’ privacy is protect by Monster, we went ahead and check out if the most important things that determine users’ privacy safety are in place. And these things are IP addresses and DNS servers. So the test to verify users’ privacy protection will be along these two.

First research on this matter

So let me first show you that while doing research, I was connect to the VPN Monster. Everything we’ll say on this topic of how protected your privacy is on this VPN is strictly from our experience with the app practically and a theory, learned from the VPN itself without proofing it. Let’s take a look at the screenshot below.

Screenshot of connected VPN Monster

The screenshot above says that I was connect to VPN Monster using United Kingdom servers.

So what that means is that I’m not actually in the United Kingdom but my internet connection while I’m connect to this VPN on this server.

I should appear on the internet to be from the United Kingdom, so something different from that (UK) while I’m still connect, is a straight up red flag.

I trust the app with my privacy and I expect to see no information of mine anywhere else on the internet regarding the IP address and DNS server.

Because I’m connect to their servers, which is for the United Kingdom and not my current country. If you want to know what my current country is when doing these tests, then check out HERE

Insight of the first research

So, my current country contains my real IP address and DNS server, which could lead anyone from anywhere to my doorstep.

It is suppose to be private information that I would never share with just anyone on the internet if not a close one.

This information doesn’t just let people know where you are but gives people a clue about where you’re. Information like bank information and important documents are on your device.

So below you can see what it says when I went to check my IP address on Nord VPN website, which is protect by only accurate IP addresses.

My generated IP address

In the above screenshot, you can see that VPN really keeps its promise by showing my IP address to be from the United Kingdom, which was the one I was connect to on the VPN app servers shown to you in the first screenshot.

Another look for clarification

So the case of keeping users’ IP addresses hidden is true, as I just saw that my real IP address wasn’t expose by Monster VPN when I checked it out.

As I told you that I’m not in the United Kingdom, but when I got connect to the VPN Monster I was said to be in London, United Kingdom, when the fact is that I’m in … you see it HERE:

After that above test of IP address, I was assured that users’ privacy protection is like being taken seriously on this VPN. But there were a lot of tests before we came to the conclusion that users’ privacy is 100% protect on the VPN Monster, so we’ll have to check out the rest.

The things we checked out when we were determining user’s privacy protection on the VPN apps as said are IP address and DNS server leaks.

When there are no leaks on any website on the internet, users’ privacy is said to be protect because these are what can lead any to track users.

DNS server leak test about VPN Monster

After we confirmed that users’ IP addresses are actually musk up by using another IP addresses generated by VPN Monster.

We’ll have to go ahead to check what it says about the DNS servers. Because these work relatively together, meaning if someone has your DNS server leak to him, he automatically gets access to your IP address without trying.

This is what your ISPs use to track you all over the internet and the same thing used by your government.

Your government work hand in hand with your ISPs in order to track your day to day online activities and control your online freedom, which is why you probably see a lot of censored content.

Research done

You have heard that VPN Monster said to unblock all the geo-restrictions and censorship you may be dealing with while you’re under your ISPs and government’s control.

So let’s take a look at what they said when we went on dnsleaktest.com to test if my real IP address and DNS server could get leak.

And above, you can see that our DNS does not seem to leak to anybody online. In the case of leaking users’ DNS, it all started with an IP address.

For instance, if my DNS server was to leak, my IP address would be shown on this website as the real one and not the fake IP address of the United Kingdom generate for me by the VPN Monster.

So this means that everywhere I go on the internet, my real IP address and DNS will never leak. Because my privacy is being protect by the VPN Monster.

But you can’t fully tell if they will keep it that way for the long run when the info which is given to us gets put in a stronger detector.

dnsleaktest.com knows about all these, so they provided all the tests to someone who is curious about his cyber security like me and you to leave the site later when they know everything about their online presence protection status.

DNS standard test on monster VPN

There is a standard DNS test and Extended DNS test as seen in the screenshot above. I will proceed first to do that stand test before I go for the extended test.

Which is the final assurance you need in order to start enjoying your online activities with nothing to worry about. So below you can see the results of our standard test

Result from DNS leak test

That screenshot you see above is what our standard rest told. This information is very vital and reassuring about users’ privacy protection.

There you can see that we’re not under any opposing ISPs because we’re said to be under Google, saving us from the government’s and our local ISPs’ control.

Our connection is not host by any company which would sell our information to some third party affiliates.

So no one controls our connection, we’re just from Google, which has billions of daily users, hence making you anonymous online.

Simple explanation about the basic DNS leak test

You can see there are over 5 IP addresses in that screenshot above. This highly contributes to your online privacy. How?

Remember that we were connect once the IP address above there in the screenshot where we were welcome to the app with “hello” follow by the IP address from London, United Kingdom.

DNS extended test on monster VPN

But now, after doing the standard test, we found out that our DNS was still not leak but was boost by providing us with an extra 6 layer as you can see above. I explained more about this in the article about Snap VPN.

The only thing that is remaining here to completely verify that users’ privacy is highly protect by VPN Monster is the extend test. So, I went on to do the extended test. Before I say anything about the safety of this VPN.

Extended DNS test results

There you have seen it, but you probably don’t understand anything there. If you don’t know what all that means, then it is okay.

I can lend you my time to explain that a little bit. In the screenshot, there are many United Kingdom servers, a lot more than the ones in the standard test.

Explanation of DNS leak test on monster VPN

When you read under servers found you can see that there is 6 times servers, so you internet connection. So our information is being protects by over 6 layers.

As you have seen above, in the standard test, there were only 6 servers found where our online traffic was switch from one to another.

This means that the extended test just gave rest assured of our privacy protection while connected to the VPN Monster. So the conclusion on the part of privacy protection is’ “VPN Monster does protect users’ privacy”. This is confirm after all the tests.

This is where your connection comes into consideration. I have been having this on my mind for a very long time, since the day I went into a certain Cafe while having some juice when I was waiting for someone there. I was in need of internet access, so I got connect to the Cafe WiFi hotspot.

Sometimes, I realize that it was pretty public WiFi with over 50 people connect to it. Whereby anyone on the main road could pull up his car by the road side and get connect to this very same free WiFi or someone waiting for a bus could get connect it.

Immediately after having all those thoughts, I realized that it was safe for me. In fact, it was a risky attempt, so I quickly got myself disconnect from the WiFi hotspot due to my safety concerns.

As I was waiting for someone, I happened to think of VPN and this is where the VPN monster came in and encrypted my internet traffic, hence creating a private internet connection over the public one.

How does VPN Monster secure your WiFi hotspot connection?

Here is the answer. It’s done by changing your IP address and DNS server, so when you go on the web, you will be completely anonymous and know your real IP address.

Even though in a public place and when one tries to track your DNS server, they’ll see nothing real.

In most cases of VPN Monster, your ISP is say to be Google and not your real local ISP, which is control by the government.

How do we prove this information to the right? Easy. Above there we have talked about privacy protection.

And we have break it successfully for our readers how the VPN Monster protects users’ privacy.

It was done by proof that users IP addresses are all hidden and never exposed by the VPN Monster.

It was also explained that users’ DNS servers never leak under no circumstances.

We actually went ahead and explained by testing it on dnsleaktest.com, which was proved to be protected by doing standard tests and extended tests.

So, as for the case of WiFi hotspot security, it’s very simple to get yourself protect on a wifi hotspot.

Because you just need the VPN, like Monster, to tape on the connect button and everything will be set-up straight up.

This is so easy because the VPN changes your IP address and your DNS server. No one anywhere could ever track you because you’re going straight up incognito.

3. Geo-restrictions unblocking – VPN Monster

This is a policy that prevents users from getting access to all the content on the internet.

So VPN Monster challenges this policy without any sort of hesitation. Really? Yes. Did it succeed in challenging this policy? I don’t know if we are about to know soon, just keep reading.

Alright, the question remains the same. Does VPN Monster unblock all the restricted content from both websites and apps? Yes!!! It doesn’t unblock literally all the content on the internet.

This is done by the higher ground break tech techniques and strategies implied by the highly qualified developers on the VPN Monster.

So how is this done if I may ask? This is a voice in one of my readers’ heads right now.

We’ll it’s a lot simpler than you think. In order to have access to the content your really want to watch, read or listen to.

All you have to do is to first find out what country that content is produce from. After finding the country out, you’ll now be only one step away from gaining access to your desired contents.

Tips to unblock any content online

So, basically, what you would need to do is to get go on your VPN Monster app and then look for that country of your desire content to get connect to its servers.

After doing that you’ll all be done and good to access that content you want to have.

Let’s say you’re in Egypt and you wanted to watch a movie or series on the United States Netflix and that movie or series not available in Egypt Netflix for some reasons, like due to violation of government video content laws or some licensing problem.

Or whatsoever, this is just an example or it can accurate as was it. Basically, all you would need in order to have access to that content you want is just to get open your VPN Monster and get connect to it,

Is through the USA server and when you try to get access again to that content you wanted, you’ll definitely encounter no blocking.

Why? Because you’re using a United States server, it means that the Netflix geo-restrictions policies system will take a look at your IP address to see where you’re from and your IP address will eventually show up as for United States. So, you’ll be consider as one of the local hence getting allow to have access to the services.

4. Internet speed test – VPN Monster

This is one of the things I’m very concerned about. Because I do a lot of things online every day, like at 10 to 12hours of my day.

So, multitasking need a lot of a higher speed internet connection in order to attain a better experience while dealing with all of them effectively.

That’s just me personally. I don’t know about you. Maybe you like to have any internet connection as long you’re connect to the internet regardless, if it’s slow or fast.

But I would tell you to always make sure that you have at least a higher internet speed as possible by using a VPN that is a little bit faster.

So the question here should be:

Does VPN Monster have a fast internet speed?

The answer is yes, we actually did the speed like twice and it was all fine.

Let’s talk about this. How did we find out the speed of the monster VPN to be fast? We have use sources from Netflix and one from Google, which is made up of several speed tests.

It’s not typical for everyone though to get the same results. When you’re going to test your internet speed later, even though you’re not connect to the VPN Monster, you may find a way to different results from the one I’m going to show you below.

But why can’t internet speed be the same for everyone? Well, the thing is that you are only allow to have the speed you have as a combination of two forces. These forces are your ISPs from your local network and the VPN server you get connect to. So, as the showcase of this study, we have used United Kingdom servers from VPN Monster and the screenshot below shows what the results was.

Speed test

Explanation of the speed test on monster VPN

Above, you can basically see that my internet connection speed was neither that slow or that fast, but all in all, it was actually fine, so I was okay with streaming any content online, including the videos, with a little buffering.

So how reliable are these internet speed test results? It’s very reliable and trustworthy because it is powered by the Netflix streaming internet speed system so fast.com is technically the world’s popular internet speed test website with no doubt nearby competition.

If you don’t understand what the above screenshot explains, then here let me explain it to you. It says “your internet speed is 6.8 megabytes per second”. That is the amount of data transfer every single day on your internet connection.

But how good is the 6.8 megabytes per second internet speed?

I would say it’s really fine, but that would be a lot personal, so I’ll say it’s just fine. You don’t have to consider it bad unless you’re used to having a 40 megabytes per second internet speed, which is consider to be the fastest internet speed.

As I said above, we did the test twice. I want to show the other test we did outside fast.com. Check the following screenshot.

Speed test number 2

As I told you, the results may vary sometimes, depending on your local network and the VPN you use. The one above is another test I did after the one on fast.com and you can see that the internet speed from the screenshot above is 6.8 megabytes per second while this second one is 8.04 megabytes per second, which is a slight difference.

I think I did this one first, and it was just 1 minute away before getting drop. So, time also counts when it comes to determining or testing the internet speed, because the internet speed is just like crypto prices, which go up and down from time to time. They cannot be so typical.

Is VPN Monster safe?

Yes, it’s 100%, it doesn’t keep users’ logs, it has been prove to hide users’ real IP addresses and it doesn’t leak users’ DNS servers.

The WiFi hotspot security is also military-grade, which encrypts users’ internet traffic. And this keeps users safe online without getting track.

Is VPN Monster free?

Yes!!! It’s 100% free with ads unless you want to pay for the premium version. The choice is all yours. Users are not force to buy the premium version, which comes with no ads.

So if you have been hesitant about downloading it because it might turn out to be a paid VPN, then you know it’s absolutely free. And we assure you about that.

What is the premium price of the VPN Monster?

There are only 2 types of premium plans or packages on this VPN app as shown below.

1. monthly – US$11.99/month

2. Yearly – US$35.99/year (75% off)

Is VPN Monster good?

Yes!! It’s actually a very good VPN app that you’d like to have any time. It is highly committed to protecting your privacy online and it does allow users to access all the geo-restricted contents on any website or app.

It doesn’t keep logs of users and it has an inbuilt browser where you can privately browse the internet without any fears, like the common browsers such as use of Google chrome, safari or Firefox.

In conclusion

VPN Monster is way too amazing as I was exploring the app when planing on writing this article about it, I discovered a lot of great things about as outlined and explained to you in this article.

Is VPN Monster recommended?

Definitely, yes! It’s in fact strongly recommended to you if you are looking for a reliable VPN to use primarily.
